Burlesque Star Red Hot Annie

Von Gutenberg Magazine recommends Red Hot Annie!

A few weeks ago, von Gutenberg recommended the Texas Burlesque Festival.  Today, we have a chance to get to know one of the participants: Red Hot Annie.

Red Hot Annie, who hails from Chicago, is not only coming to the Texas Burlesque Festival for the second year in a row, but she also has a unique knowledge of the workings of such festivals.  Her appearance in Texas comes just one week after her own Vaudezilla Productions teamed up with Chicago’s Belmont Burlesque Revue to present the first-ever Windy City Burlesque Fest.  The festival was met to rave reviews and even as this year’s festivities were dying down, Annie was already coming up with ideas for next year’s.

Annie burst onto the Chicago burlesque scene just over two years ago, having come from an extensive performance background and several years’ worth of pinup, figure, and fetish modeling. She has worked with some of Chicago’s top photographers, developing a reputation for her professionalism and eye for what works.

Just six months into her burlesque career, Annie joined forces with her partner Dick Dijon to create Vaudezilla Productions. They came up with Vaudezilla’s concept when they realized that they wanted to provide Chicago with much needed performances opportunities, and provide they did. In short order, they established Vaudezilla as the premiere source for free burlesque shows in Chicago – with a weekly bar-top show at Blue Bayou and a monthly show at Exit – as well as setting a new standard for theatrically-inspired burlesque shows.  Their critically-acclaimed box office smash hit, “Rollin’ Outta Here Naked: A Big Lebowski Burlesque,” will be back for a second year with a bevy of Chicago burlesque performers and hopefully a few familiar faces from across the country.  Along with team members Wham Bam Pam, Donna Touch, Maria May I, Barret All, RenZena, and Trixie Sparx, Annie has positioned Vaudezilla as a major force in Chicago burlesque.

As for Annie herself, she has been raising her profile by making appearances all across the United States.  In addition to her second appearance in the Texas Burlesque Festival, she will be appearing for the second year in a row at the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival.  And in just the first few months of 2010, she has made appearances in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Kansas City, Milwaukee and Nashville. With more than a few cities left to visit, Annie has her sites set on more national and international touring within the year.

Wherever she goes, Red Hot Annie brings with her a unique style of burlesque that fuses storytelling, humor, and sexiness all in one stunning package.  Drawing on her theater background, Annie strives to put a distinctive character stamp on each of her acts.  Fans have come to expect a variation from Annie, both in costume and performance style. She has been a damsel in distress who finds a clever way to get someone to fill her tank, a hot dog vendor who turns lemons into lemonade when her business meets with an unexpected end, and a penguin.

You never know what you’re going to see when she performs, but you can always be guaranteed one thing…Red Hot Annie always knows how to make the wieners boil!

Burlesque is one of the most famous sub-genres of fetish and well established globally from the Crazy Horse in Paris to endless bars and parties throughout the US. Arch Enemys the art of pin up and high heels

Von Gutenberg Magazine recommends ArchEnemys!

ArchEnemys was founded in 1997 by Nate LaChance with a mission to sell high heel  footwear.  We offered much more than average footwear.  It consisted of very expensive high heel shoes & boots with an extremely high heel.

As time passed we realized that the stock photos displayed on our site was not enough to describe such a unique product.  Customers asked if additional photos were available.  They really wanted to see what the shoes actually looked like an.  So we started doing our own photography & even started shooting video.  During this whole time a huge fan base began to develop.  Emails started to pour in about our  photos & videos.  They not only loved it, they wanted more.

Meanwhile Carrie LaChance came onboard, and approached us about taking ArchEnemys to a brand new level.  She explained her vision in a way that created a whole new look & feel for ArchEnemys.  We began to lay out a plan that highlighted  100% quality & customer satisfaction.  Simply put, Carrie wanted to get professional!

Within 1 years time we began marketing our company through our new found “professional” Pin-Up photography & video.  We added an extensive line of clothing, latex, posters, accessories, videos, built a photography studio, opened up a retail store and launched two other websites.  ArchEnemys has earned a true position in the world of Pin-Up and we intend to keep getting better & better.  It is always a challenge trying to keep up with our edgy high heel pin-up theme.  Always striving to take it to the edge while maintaining a clean and sexy feel.  In the world that is today, to accomplish something this wonderful is a true blessing.

All our videos have two things in common, beautiful women in high heels.  You don’t need much more than that to make a video interesting  but if you really want to create something more than just “eye candy” you need to work a lot harder & become creative.  What makes our videos so popular you might ask?  Well, being sexy is probably the number 1 reason for sure.  But just like Hollywood, mix in a little drama, suspense and humor and you create the perfect recipe for real entertainment.  Even a 5 minute video clip becomes worth it’s weight in gold.  So, we basically find something that people find interesting and add our own ArchEnemys twist to it.

ArchEnemys has have a lot of really big plans for the near future.  One thing in the works is “The ArchEnemys Show” hosted by The Latex Twins, and another is the very first ArchEnemys feature film slotted for 2010. These are just a few things that ArchEnemys is working on, so keep an eye out on our website for more updates!

HUBBA HUBBA REVUE

San Francisco’s Hubba Hubba Revue has been a mainstay of Bay Area entertainment –and the premiere burlesque & variety show- for over 3 years. Performing monthly at DNA Lounge –and weekly, Monday nights, at Oakland’s Uptown Club– every Hubba Hubba Revue is an unforgettable combination of irreverent comedy, top-notch talent, and of course a generous helping of classic striptease.

Voted “Best Burlesque Revue” in the Best of San Francisco 2009 by SFWeekly.

“Pasties, booze, and pretty girls thumbing their noses at propriety? Sounds like a party to us. For more than three years, the Hubba Hubba Revue has been upstaging more coquettish burlesque acts with a tasty goulash of live bands, classic striptease, vaudeville high-jinks, and Weimar era–esque cabaret acts.” – SFWEEKLY

SISTER KATE

This gorgeous trio of dancers combines cabaret-inspired theatrics with bellydance, vaudeville, and themes that range from the comedic to the sultry & sinister. Always sexy, always alluring, the three ladies of Sister Kate never fail to shimmy their way into their audiences’ hearts.

Sister Kate also produce their own show, “Baxtalo Drom — The Lucky Road” monthly at the Amnesia Bar in San Francisco.

FLAME CYNDERS

Originally from Atlanta, GA, Flame Cynders is a rare & beguiling beauty who’s work focuses primarily on the classic era of burlesque. From feathers to glitter to everything in between, Flame is a practioner of the Art of Striptease.

MYNX d’MEANOR

“Tho’ She Be Little, She Be Fierce,” –so goes the motto of San Francisco burlesque performer, Mynx d’Meanor. Mynx has been delighting audiences with her unique and always delectable performances for over 3 years now –both here in SF, and in San Diego, where she produced her own shows, “Fishnet Follies,” and “Comic Strip.”

SPARKLY DEVIL

Already a burlesque star in her own right when she moved to San Francisco from Detroit in 2006, Sparkly Devil joined up with Hubba Hubba Revue and it’s been a match made in striptease-heaven ever since.

With a range that includes everything from superb comic timing to dramatic performance to combinging feather-fans with gangsta rap, Sparkly Devil is one of the most dynamic performers in the burlesque community.

TWINKLETOES McGEE

A compatriot of Sparkly Devil’s from her Detroit days (where the two of them were members of the troupe, “Causing A Scene”) Twinkletoes only recently moved to San Francisco –but he’s already taken the town by storm.

An amazing and classically-trained dancer, Twinkletoes raises the bar for talent on-stage, all while maintaining a not-so-hidden wink at the audience.

YOUR LITTLE CHERNOBYL

A member of Hubba Hubba Revue from almost it’s very first day, Your Little Chernobyl is a lithe, captivating performer who combines superb burlesque with ariels –on ropes, hoops, silks and more– to create fascinating visual artistry you won’t soon forget.

MADAM CHARTREUSE

A native of the great city of New Orleans, Madam Chartreuse is a statuesque beauty with the sultry voice of a riverboat-belle… and a pair of full-sized leather bullwhips that she knows how to use.  Once she casts her voodoo spell, no audience ever forgets a night with Madam Chartreuse.

KINGFISH

People who know better refer to Kingfish as Jim Sweeney, a long-time San Francisco show-producer and entertainer who has been co-creator and M.C. to such Bay Area extravaganzas as “Spectacular! Spectacular!” and “Creepshow Peepshow.”

With fellow Bay Area MC, Eddie Dane, Kingfish started Hubba Hubba Revue in 2006, and the show has since become a major element of the Bay Area entertainment scene.

Sabina Kelley – burlesque dancer & pin up model

CMW3Erik von Gutenberg recommends Sabina Kelley. An international pin up model and burlesque star!

She specializes in Pinup, Fashion, Glamour, Fetish, Swimsuit, and Lingerie style shoots. Sabina:

I’ve been modeling professionally for 7 years and I’ve worked with some of the best photographers in the world including David LaChapelle and famous Pinup photographer Bunny Yeager. When I’m not modeling, I’m dancing. I’ve been dancing since I was 2 years old, and am trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and pointe. I went from a small town ballerina to a big time Las Vegas Showgirl. I was a Showgirl at Ballys Hotel in Jubilee for 2 and a half years, and I’m currently a burlesque dancer that travels the world performing.

I am a heavily tattooed model and known very much for being the spokesmodel for tattoo conventions worldwide, and for being on the cover of numerous tattoo magazines. While some people love my tattoos there are people who would rather hire me without them. As of right now, I have two full sleeves. So I can wear long sleeves and make it look like I have no tattoos.

I also write my own Pinup article for each issue of Car Kulture Deluxe Magazine called “Pin Down Pinup”. If you want to learn more about the Pinup scene, my thoughts and opinions check out the magazine at www.CKDeluxeMag.com. If you have a suggestion or questions for me for my layout feel free to send me an email.
