Our Middle Name Is…

Looking above the VON GUTENBERG name on the magazine and on our website (hell, everywhere really) you will find this trio of words: Fashion.Latex.Lifestye. While the end words are subject to interpretation the middle one isn’t and as such we feature designers making it, models wearing it and spend lots of time pondering the wonderfully diverse material that is latex and how is impacts fashion and lifestyle. Certainly at VON GUTENBERG we are interested about cloth and leather, lace and denim, and we feature dresses, hats, goggles, gloves, shoes and just about everything else we can get our grubby little hands, hopefully presenting it all to you in a truly unique way. But latex outfits like dresses and catsuits, corsets and skirts are some of our ‘favorite things’, as the song goes.

If you delve into the V.G. portal or hit an event or two listed in our Fantasy Even List you’ll find plenty of friends who’ll be sporting outfits you’re bound to drool over, those who will share their latex fashion secrets with you (and those that won’t) and plenty who will lead you to the many places around the globe where you can find the very coolest-and latest-latex outfits, either right off the rack or custom made, by shopping in a store or buying off line.

Some of our favorite houses, ones we work almost all the time are Syren, Polymorphe (actually, here’s a Polymorphe’s latex care article, something that’s super important for any latex lover: http://www.polymorphe.com/index.php/en/customer-service/latex-care) and Westward Bound.

You might be an absolute freak for denim, taffeta might be your reason for living or you simply might like to wrap yourself in any material that you can afford and never give a care for what an outfit is made out of just as you like you in it. Rest assured though if you have a penchant for something specific there are people out there just like you and places to buy what you want. This is true for lovers of latex or people just interested in it.

Here at Von Gutenberg you know we are as interested in latex as you are.

Answering That Syren Call

One of the many wonderful things about working at Von Gutenberg is being introduced to all the designers working in latex/leather and leather presently. In our new issue #6 especially we have contributions by private designers and bigger firms alike-in the case of Deanna Storm, the lady wore some of her own designs-and one and all these design houses and the men and women who work for them, stepped-up their proverbial A-game (as they always do) to outfit our models and send us over some amazing photo essays making the magazine a truly unique visual artifact.

In our latest issue we feature an 8-page spread from fetish designer Syren. Showcasing the inspired photography of Steve Diet Goedde shooting model Ancilla Tilia we get a good representation of what this designers’ L.A. store carries (and of course what you could order inline). As the world’s premier rubber couturier Syren made Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman suit, Malin Akerman’s Silk Spectre costume in Watchmen and the most recent Rubber Man suit for super scary T.V. show American Horror Story.

Stars such as Britney Spears, Katy Perry and a host of others have worn Syren designs.

Um, You Know, There Are Earlier Von Gutenberg Magazines…

I have been pushing our just released issue #6 with covert girl MiMi Cherry, story contributions by Midori, M. Christian, great photo essays from Westward Bound and Syren, plus fantasy artwork by Armanado Huerta, Ed Mironiuk and plenty of other stuff from plenty of others filling out the issue. But I hope you have seen, are aware of, or might want to get yourself a copy of our issues 1-5…all unique collector’s editions in their own right.

You can get those magazines here: http://www.vongutenberg.com/shop/ . You’ll see number # 6 pop-up right at the top of the page, with beautiful MiMi, but scroll down to the left hand column under BESTSELLERS for the other issues. Those issues include cover girls like Jean Bardot, fetish superstar Perish in never-before published photos, RUBBERDOLL Jewell Marceau, 2010’s Mister SF Leather (VON Gutenberg’s first male model) and of course all the usual coverage of past fetish events and interviews with scene makers, our models and designers.

So get a copy of issue 6 now and catch-up with the rest of the Von Gutenberg magazines if you don’t yet have them.

Saturday Visit to Syren/Stockroom Boutique in L.A.

I wanted to post a quick blog about the great visit I had to Syren this weekend.  Not only did I get to pick out some beautiful new gloves, I had the pleasure of seeing a few members of their lovely staff again. They showed me some new pieces, a riding jacket that’s only going to be sold in stores – so email/call/fly to Los Angeles to get your hands on them. They are absolutely amazing.

Gold and baby pink frilled gloves and we got my partner a pair of rubber boy shorts that fit whimisically!

The fantastic thing about these little gloves is the construction, hands down (no pun intended)! The layering and assembly is inredibly sturdy and there’s no fear the exquisite ruffles will be unfortunately torn off.

More soon!

Busy As A Mosquito In A Nudist Colony…

I was thinking, I spend so much time on the computer – and so much of that looking at latex – I thought it might be fun to post a weekly “What’s-New-What’s-In-My-Running-Wish-list?!” Many of us know, acquiring latex and other fetish-y goodnesses is quite the delicate process. I mean, putting on latex or corsets, et al, isn’t something you can rush! As well, a girl has to budget her dough for other “fun” things like tattoos, shoes, books, music, and good food! So consider this my little NSFW “picks-of-the-week”, enjoy!

Well, if you read my last post, you know I’m currently obsessed with HMS’s (Sophie’s) designs! I’m waiting on her new neck-piece to arrive into my grubby hands, and I think I’m going to soon purchase THIS skirt to match:

On the perpetual “quest” for the perfect catsuit, today I ran across one at House Of Harlot that almost sent me to the floor:

It’s form fitting and boasts a built in catsuit. Another thing I love is the neckline! I personally prefer to show that part off, not so much because of my billowing chest, but because of my chest tattoo. It’s all about aesthetics, right? I would love any feedback if anyone has this or had the chance to try it on!

Finally, I am dearly blessed to be around the corner from Syren/Stockroom! I’ve had the pleasure of being personally fitted for their Basic Rubber Corset ::swoon::

Tomorrow I’m going to stop by because I’ve been dying to see their new Strapless Ruffle Dress “in person”:

Oh, I don’t forget about the boys! Of course, I own one myself :)

Hoping they have a pair of these in his size for trying on. I might have to treat him to a belated Christmas gift.

Hope you enjoy! I’ll post more about my adventures at Syren on Sunday :)

Kinky tidings,
